Students trained in the ICT Faculty gain an excellent foundation in the principles of ICT in a converged world. The many and varied programmes, short courses, learnerships and graduate intern programmes help to develop the competencies of ICT practitioners, nurturing their ability to conceptualize, analyze and solve problems back in the workplace.
The ICT Faculty covers a wide range of subjects across the full spectrum of telecommunications, including Converged IP, NGN Networks (Access, Edge, Core and Transport), Optic, and OSS, BSS. The Faculty works in tandem with the ITU, CTO, SATA, industry and academia, and is therefore at the cutting edge of ICT trends worldwide.
Students trained in the Information Technology Faculty will obtain future-ready skills needed to be successful in a variety of job functions with the broad IT environment. Learning solutions range from PC end-user interventions such as Microsoft Suite and IC3 through to programming and systems training on a broad range of vendor offerings, using methodologies that enhance hands-on skills and experience required to function in today’s technology careers.
The IT faculty enables classroom and online learning, hands-on labs, and access to courses, resources and collaboration tools.
The Commercial Services Faculty serves the development needs of people working within the ICT Fulfillment and Assurance environment, which includes the Telkom Direct Shops, Call Centers, Back Offices, Billing, Marketing and Sales. Learning interventions provided by the Faculty address the vast array of OSS (Operational Support Systems) tools utilized by ICT practitioners in the provisioning of services to customers.
The Employee Enhancement Faculty addresses those additional skills that go beyond the initial competence required to do the job. These skills focus on dealing with problems in the workplace as well as improving the employee’s work life.
The Leadership Development team aims to empower each individual to take ownership of their own development by means of an interactive Leadership Development self help website. The website gives the individual access to their job roles and associated competencies, the Telkom Leadership model, self assessment tools and job related formal and informal interventions, including a Leadership Faculty, Mentorship and Executive Coaching.
The Financial Faculty provides the necessary training in order to enable the organization to increase profitability and manage its assets optimally. This Faculty focuses on providing development to enable all employees to make financially astute decisions. Learners will develop knowledge and understanding of the financial aspects of the organization.
The Human Resource Faculty facilitates, through development opportunities, the effective provision of productive and value-added HR services to the Organization which will enable the pursuit of Organizational strategy. A core focus of the development is to enable professional HR practice and effective business partnering with HR customers to achieve Organizational goals.
The Faculty of Management Development provides development to enable managers to unleash their true managerial potential. This management development will empower managers and emerging leaders to refine and grow effectively in managing their teams to achieve corporate goals.

The Regulatory and Legal Faculty provides the essential training to ensure that all employees know what is necessary in order to comply with the relevant laws and their requirements. As a listed company, compliance is a business imperative.
The Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993, stipulates that it is every employer’s duty to ensure that the workplace is a safe place to work in and that it does not pose a health risk to employees working there. The SHE Faculty offers a variety of short training courses with the aim of obtaining the competencies required to ensure a safe, healthy and environmentally friendly workplace. Furthermore, the training satisfies legal compliance and ensures that best practices are adopted to protect Employers and Company Shareholders against any H, S. & E liability. Our training interventions will assist employers in taking their Safety, Health and Environmental practices and activities to beyond just being legally compliant.
